Where have our leaders gone?

My fellow Canadians:

I write as a concerned Canadian and founder of “On Guard for Thee,” a community-based pro-life group. I have seen persistent and disturbing legislation in past years which has steamrolled our freedoms under the guise of health care, tolerance, and equality.

The open attack on freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to life, the right to assemble and peacefully protest, the right to health care, to basic human rights themselves – all revoked by an authoritarian government in Ottawa. In place of our freedoms,  we’re forced to endure an authoritarianism which tells us to believe women can be men, pre-born babies aren’t human beings, murdering the elderly and disabled is not only merciful, but it’s what they really want, that sexual acts in ‘pride parades’ should be socially celebrated with our children, that foreigners and refugees arrested for heinous crimes should be given little to no jail time so their chance at Canadian citizenship isn’t jeopardized, that seniors and armed forces veterans requesting assistance and their due benefits are the problem in this country, not political corruption, and the list goes on.

I must ask – where have our leaders gone? The leaders with voices to protect veterans, pre-born babies, those with disabilities, mental health struggles, and those of us who are imperfect. Protect us from the circling predators bent on destroying our Canadian society. We need true leaders, with unwavering grit and tenacity, to defend Canadians from their predators – whether those predators be medical, political, or global.

We need parliamentary opponents with unrelenting leadership, backed with purposeful action, to correct the course of our nation. Is there a true leader among us who will rise to the occasion in our hour of need? For I do not recognize this place; it is no longer the Canada I knew and of which I was so proud as a young adult. It is a fraction of its former self, not the country my grandpa and his generation fought and died for on Juno beach and throughout Europe. This is not the Canada they envisioned for future generations.

Canada, where vaguely worded legislation is designed to protect Abortion and Euthanasia providers, not the human victims they kill. Legislation for the transgender movement, geared to toddlers who have yet to say a complete sentence and teens going through normal life phases. Preying on young people with too little life experience to comprehend what their consent will do to them, both physically and mentally, in the decades to come. Legislation designed to destroy our society one ‘tolerance’ at a time. While apathy and disregard for human life grow stronger by the day and government-sanctioned mutilation and murder become a multi-billion-dollar industry.

Canada, where a national protest by ordinary citizens ended with a gross abuse of power that enacted the War Measures Act, with which the federal government illegally seized millions of dollars and left protestors without financial means to survive. An ominous foreboding for the digital currency and digital ID they so desperately want each Canadian to have, and which can be revoked by pressing a button, should we ever decide to think for ourselves or speak out.

Canada, where pastors like Artur Pawlowski, a legal immigrant who fled communist Poland under the iron curtain, was jailed for keeping his church open and for speaking out against tyranny in our nation, our nation now so reminiscent of the Poland he so desperately fled.

We need a leader who will correct Canada’s course and restore the freedoms our forefathers fought and died for in faraway lands, and the moral principles which guided their lives.

We wish once again to say with clear conviction the words spoken by Prime Minister, John Diefenbaker: ‘I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country.’

Who will carry this mantle? The answer is “we all should” because each of us can lead the way for others through our thoughts, words, and actions. We are all examples of our life choices – good or bad. The question is not 'who will carry this mantle', but rather 'how bad do things have to get before I stand up for myself, my family, and my country'?

God Bless,

Lee-Ann

Euthanasia -- our free fall into the abyss

Dear Dad:

The more I learn about Canada's Euthanasia law, the more concerned I become.

At first, there was one 'track' which was only for those people who were terminally ill and expected to die soon.

Then, they opened a second track to include people who aren't dying in the near future, but are suffering from irreversible conditions that affect their quality of life. The irreversible conditions don't have to be severe, just a condition that won't improve & all people have to say is they 'can't go on', then the government would be more than willing to dispose of them.

In 2023, an expansion was passed to allow a new Euthanasia track for people who suffer only from mental illness to be euthanized, though they deferred it's implementation until March 2027.

Now they're pushing for killing babies under the age of one who have chronic conditions such as down's syndrome, spina bifida, blindness, deafness, diabetes, asthma, etc. Essentially, all the infants they could not dispose of through the massacre called 'abortion'.

They also want 'mature minors' (as young as 12 years old) to have the right to request Euthanasia - with or without parental consent.

How can this be when doctors themselves can't say for certain that the conditions from which they suffer will be fatal, and who decides whether the quality of life they have is not worth living?

The one thing all these tracks had in common was it required to ask the 'applicant' just prior to starting the procedure if they still wanted to die. Now, they're discussing whether they will even require that final consent to be obtained.

We often discussed in 2016 the 'slippery slope' that would come once this law was put into practice. Dad, in only 9 years, Euthanasia has not gone down a slippery slope. Our country is in an outright free fall, and the impact to our Canadian society is devastating.

Love you and think of you often.

Lee-Ann

Let's focus on the proposed new track at hand.
Canadian Children may be euthanized with or without parental consent. (link to article)

The above article was first posted on the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition website (www.epcc.ca) and talks specifically about euthanizing children -- which is a different group than 'mature minors' which they said would include minors as young as 12 years old.

The passage in the article that sticks out most to me was:

"According to an article by Sharon Kirkey published by Sun Media, on October 9, 2018; the ethicists at the Children's Hospital believe that there is no difference between killing someone and letting them die. Kirkey reported:

The working group said it wasn’t convinced that there is a meaningful difference for the patient “between being consensually assisted in dying (in the case of MAID) and being consensually allowed to die (in the case of refusing life-sustaining interventions).”
Some people would dispute that, I know I would. There is a difference in a person's self-esteem and self-worth when they die a natural death as opposed to someone deliberately killing them. The willingness to end a life, as if it's not worth saving, has an effect whether it's admitted or not.

What is most concerning is the question of when and where will these conversations take place. When they discuss Euthanasia with children, will they make parents aware the conversation is taking place, or will they cite privacy laws and ensure these discussions happen behind closed doors?

Will they simply wait until the parents are gone to have this conversation, seeing as it has been made clear that it's the child's decision, not the parents'? Will parents arrive to visit their child only to find out they've been euthanized without their knowledge?

Many people would accuse me of fear-mongering; however, all the 'what if' questions and concerns raised at the onset of the Euthanasia regime back in 2016 have come to fruition in less than 10 years. Is it fear-mongering to warn others of dangers to themselves and their loved ones? That our government is moving to a place where they will inevitably decide who's life is worth saving and whose isn't - who gets suicide prevention and who gets just suicide.

Right now, we can legally kill someone with a long-term illness that won't improve, whether or not it's life-threatening. We can legally kill Canadians who suffer from mental illness, as long as doctors can also find a physical condition that will not improve. We have already passed a law that will allow us to kill Canadians who struggle with mental health issues, not physical ones, though its legal implementation has been deferred to March 2027.

It is beyond unethical to engage in suicidal discussions with young minds who have neither the life experience nor the knowledge base with which to make an informed decision of this magnitude. It is equally predatory to engage in suicidal discussions with people who may be suffering from depression, social isolation, despair, feelings of worthlessness, and the list goes on.

Despite their training, medical staff cannot say with any certainty when someone will die, there are many cases of people recovering unexpectedly, defying medical odds. Those cases exist in balance with the number of people who were expected to recover, but died suddenly - sometimes with no medical explanation to be found.

My goal for this blog is not to perpetuate fear, but to raise awareness, about the Euthanasia regime, to educate, and to prompt discussions involving all members of our society, regardless of their age. To remind people that their lives have value regardless of the challenges they may face.

With God's grace and the determination of Canadians, we can and will turn the tide.

So I challenge you as a reader to speak to your member of parliament, to have an honest discussion with your family and friends about their value in your life, and to become a member of your provincial pro-life organization to both show your support and get updates on critical issues that affect our society.

We ask you to stand with us by sending your prayers, speaking to your parliamentary representatives, educating those around you, and protecting our country by living up to our national anthem to 'stand on guard for thee'.

Euthanasia: the violation of human rights in Canada and beyond

Dear Dad:

It's been almost 2 years since you left us and, sadly, the deterioration of our country continues. You must see it from your heavenly vantage point and shake your head in disbelief.

I recall as your health declined, you felt fearful and unwell, but you continued to embrace life with family and friends just like Grandpa, Uncle Eddy, and so many generations before you.

Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD aka Euthanasia) has a hypnotic hold on Canada now. Basically, the pro-death regime came up with a new slick trick: label Euthanasia as 'compassion & caring'; then, if someone speaks out about its vague legal verbiage and huge loopholes, accuse them of being 'cruel' for letting people suffer in agony. What is truly frightening, Dad, is how its unchecked progression has ensnared so many people and how our country is being corroded by lack of respect for human life.

I sometimes wonder if you would have chosen to use MAiD and am thankful that you were not provided the option as far as I'm aware. I'm glad we had as much time together as naturally possible.

I love you and think of you often.

Lee-Ann"

MAiD, described as 'liberating and euphoric' by those who provide this 'service', is nothing more than Eugenics disguised as benevolence.

It promises so much and delivers nothing that can be substantially proven. After all, no one survives the procedure so whether it's as wonderful and painless as it's been made out to be remains unknown. The only true winners in this shady sales pitch are the providers that offer the service for a price, and of course the government that keeps all those unspent health care dollars.

Make no mistake, what started as a claim of 'compassion' and 'mercy' for those in physical agony, with a foreseeable death, only 9 years ago, is now targeting anyone with an 'irremediable and grievous" medical condition such as: arthritis, heart failure, diabetes, blindness, deafness, asthma, and the list goes on. Basically, if your condition is chronic, won't improve and/or can't be fixed, and you're uncomfortable because of that, the government will let someone kill you.

Starting in March 2027, people living with mental illness can choose to be euthanized and the argument for infanticide (euthanizing children under the age of one) grows stronger by the day.

God save us all as the scope of what is 'fair game' in Canada's Euthanasia hunt has broadened at a terrifying pace. And as the scope broadens further, the likelihood of it touching you or someone you know increases; yes, it can happen to you.

To withstand this attack, Canadians must be united in our core belief of essential human rights; that every life has value. Whether we're protesting the massacre of pre-born children in the womb or exposing the annihilation of those of us who are less than perfect. Yes, I said "us" because humans are imperfect by nature which means we are all on the proverbial chopping block.

When some segments of our population are deemed worthy of saving and others are deemed expendable, moral outrage at such injustice must be voiced. This is what makes Euthanasia a human rights issue. If need be, we'll yell it from the rooftops!

The mission of On Guard for Thee is to raise awareness, to keep the conversation going, to keep Euthanasia from lurking in the shadows like a stalker preying on the vulnerable.

With God's grace and the determination of Canadians, we can and will turn the tide. We can talk to our families, our friends, our fellow worshippers, our priests, rabbis, and ministers. We can keep Euthanasia in the glaring light so it can't retreat to the dark where it will only grow stronger.

We ask you to stand with us by sending your prayers, lending your voice, educating those around you, and protecting Canada by living up to our national anthem to 'stand on guard for thee'.
